I guess I have always been interested in the arts. When my children were little, I was always buying them arts and crafts supplies. However, none of them took an interest. After they were grown and on their own, I got bored, so one day I picked up a paint-by-number set for myself. I discovered I could not wait to get home from work to play with my paint-by-number set. After I did several, I saw Bob Ross on TV and sent for one of his books. Painting those happy little trees did not quite get it for me, so when I retired in 1999, I took a class from a local artist and discovered the joy of putting paint onto a dry canvas for the first time.
Since
then, I have painted many florals, landscapes, both in oil and acrylic.
I have done many drawings in graphite and colored pencil. In 2001, I started
entering competitions locally and have won many ribbons, as well as some
2nd and 3rd place winnings, also Purchase Award in the PFAA Competition
in 2006. Painting is still just a hobby with me, however I have sold several
of my paintings at local exhibits as well as to family and friends.
