Mr. Kellly may modestly describe himself as simply a "Garbage Man", but in actuality he is much more. He is an industrial compactor repair supervisor by profession only. He is a Folk Artist by heart and passion. On his off time, this avid outdoorsman can be found in his backyard log cabin which he built to serve as his studio developing wooden relief carvings and steel sculptures which have become the trademark of his self described "Den Art" take on the Folk Art movement.
He
has had no formal training through Universities, Colleges, Classes, or
Workshops. Self taught 2005 through the present utilizing general knowledge
and skill sets developed throughout the years.
David Kelly has had many awards and honors, solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, and commissions. He has been an demonstrator at several festivals and been in various magazines. He has artwork in President George W. Bush and Governor Sonny Perdue's collections.
